Operation Round Up ® Recipients

Magnolia Midlands Chapter of the American Red Cross-$10,000
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Chapter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, provides relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.  The Red Cross is prepared to provide a variety of disaster relief services to their seven county service area. The funding will be used to aid families that have been devastated by home fires and providing food, clothing and shelter assistance.

Laurens County Fire Department - $7,100
Laurens County Fire Rescue is committed to protecting the people within our community along with educating the community on safety and fire prevention.  To educate the community, fire prevention tools are needed that are interactive, catching the attention of young and old alike.  The funding will be used to purchase a storage facility for such tools.  

Bleckley County High School Drama Department - $6,245.75
The purpose of the Drama Department of Bleckley County High School is to expose the basically rural students of our county to the performing arts and to give then an opportunity to develop and hone skills learned in Drama. The funding will be used to purchase additional stage lighting for the existing theatre.

Family Connection Partnership - $5,000
The mission of the Family Connection Partnership is to work in partnership with communities, policymakers, service providers, businesses, advocates, and families to improve the well-being of children, families, and communities in Georgia.  The purpose of the funding is to support community representatives from county mutuals at the 2007 Family Connection Conference, where participants will learn the latest research and best practices and discover what works strengthening their communities by networking with partners in other communities.
